Our Good Deed

While spending the afternoon hanging out with Dejan, we decided to make a long overdue visit Krispy Kreme in Delta. During our visit, we were approached by a dischevelled lady who appeared in her mid-50's asking for car assistance.

"Do you have any experience using a coat hanger to open a car door?"

We were able to easily assume that she had locked her car keys inside of her 1989 Ford Probe. She then informs us she can not locate the spare key that her husband had left attached under the car. She appeared to be in a state of near panic and then asked us the kicker question...

"Do you guys know how to break into cars?" Dejan's jaw drops as he whispers to me, "I think she assumes that every young person in Surrey is a car thief or criminal. Hahaha..."

Obviously, both of us could not turn our backs and walk away from an innocent lady who was looking for help.

My first thought was to run to the drycleaners at the other end of the parking lot for a hanger. Meanwhile, Dejan quickly drops down on his hands and knees. Within moments, he had found the spare key attached to the radiator support. I watched the eyes on the lady immediately glow as she begins endlessly thanking us for being so helpful. Although we declined her offer to pay for a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee, we felt rewarded enough knowing somebody benefited from our good deed.
